Waste Bunkers:
Native Sand with tall Fescue grass bordering. Small shrubs and trees enhance natural flavor. Waste bunkering is also a defining feature of The Historic Pine Valley Golf Club in New Jersey.
Traditional Bunkers:
The white “Ohio’s Best” sand used in the primary bunkers is imported from Ohio. Transported by barge via the Ohio & Mississippi Rivers, this sand was shipped to St. Paul, Minnesota and then delivered to Deacon’s Lodge by 32 semi trailers. The Blue-Fescue grass bordering these bunkers is left long by design to enhance the rustic native presentation.
Chipping Aprons:
The large undulating chipping aprons are designed to give the golfer maximum playing options. These bent grass transition areas are very similar to those found at Pinehurst, North Carolina.
Natural Sub-Terrain: Deacon’s Lodge sits upon 170 feet of pure native sand.
