Hole of the Week 2: The Pines - Lakes #6

This week's hole is not done justice by the accompanying map photo. It does not show the wood carvings on the right. It doesn't show the towering Scotch pine tree on the left as you approach the green. It doesn't show Kirby looking for balls in the swamp on the right in front of the green.

The view from the dogleg to the green is one of the best holes we play. The severe slope on the left side of the green is forgiving but the lower tier on the back left of the green is not. This is the second of three great holes in a row on the Lakes course.

The Cahoonas have had their share of birdies on this hole and a few eagles have been scared. This year found new construction on the right off the teebox in the trees.

Yopu may not have gone in the swamp, but you were fishing there for balls many, many, many times. I recall putting out one time and you were still fishing for balls. Apparently you found that more palatable than playing out your double bogey!

It never fails that I'm right off the tee. If I'm fortunate enough to find it, it's still parable. Last time, my 3rd shot (pull left w/ 9 iron) bounced radically off the hill of the left leaving me w/ what appeared to be a makable birdie. I arrived at the green and found an impossible back right pin. I had to beg for a gimme to salvage a 6!
