Hole of the Week 6: The Preserve - #9

I can feel myself needing to take a shit as I write this. I don't know if it this hole or just the timing that I associate with this hole but I always need to "send the Browns to the Super Bowl" after playing this hole. That is possibly related to the manner in which I usually play this hole. Fortunately the clubhouse is right there.

It is always better to be in the first Cahoona group though. If you aren't, you'll probably have to wait for another Cahoona to make a seat available, sit in a massive green cloud and make do with the final 10 inches of TP.

Better hit a decent drive on this hole if you want a shot for a birdie. It is a huge green that just screams three-putt; especially when the Cahoonas are in town. More than one Cahoona par has come from a chip in the woods on the left.

The setup of this hole has always reminded me of #6 on Pine Beach East with the cabin behind the 150-yard par 3. I remember Cahoonas chipping out of the woods for pars on that hole too - just after setting off the "small dick alert" on the teebox!!

This hole makes me salivate for a Margharita (sp?). They make a mean one there, extra tequila and she's always able to get the salt to stick on the "traveler" cup. From there my game improves.

I always seem to find a way to par this hole, even though I rarely hit a good drive. Hitting to an elevated green must just be a good mental picture for me, I usually drop the second shot mid-greeen. ALWAYS the spot for a power-gimme with the bar / poo cave
/ hot pro shop chick imminent.
